Edward M. Kilkeary, Sr.

Edward M. Kilkeary, Sr.
CEO/President

Ed Kilkeary was born in Pittsburgh, PA in 1947. He became fascinated with aviation when he went flying for the first time at age 12. After serving as an Army helicopter pilot during Vietnam from 1966-1968, he became an owner-operator hauling steel freelance around the country with the aim of someday returning to his passion of flying.

In 1975, Ed took his first flying job as a helicopter pilot for an established family-owned coal company. The coal company decided to buy a Lear jet 25D in 1980, convinced by Ed that he could generate revenue for them with on-demand charter while the owners were not using the aircraft. They named the company L.J. Aviation, Inc. and later changed the name to L.J. Aviation to better reflect the nature of the business. In 1996, Ed and Mary Ann Kilkeary became sole owners of L.J. Aviation. Ed has type ratings in the Hawker, Falcon Westwind, Lear jet and Bell Helicopter logging more than 600 hours per year and over 20,000 hour to date. Through Ed's energy, work ethic, and guidance, L.J. Aviation has established itself as a leader and one of the most respected companies in the aviation industry. It maintains its principles Ed based the company on - Responsibility, Reputation and Relationships.
