Edward M. Kilkeary, Sr. Named Finalist For Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2004 Award
Western Pennsylvania - May 18, 2004 - Edward M. Kilkeary, Sr., President and CEO of Latrobe-based L.J. Aviation was named a finalist by professional services firm Ernst & Young
LLP for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2004 Awards in Pittsburgh. L.J. Aviation was selected from over 50 nominations in the Pittsburgh area by a panel of judges comprised
of local community and business leaders. L.J. Aviation is the only Westmoreland County company to be nominated. Finalists will be selected in one of several award categories announced at an awards banquet
on June 25, 2004 at the Westin Convention Center in Pittsburgh.
Serving as a member of a helicopter crew in Vietnam, Mr. Kilkeary returned home with the hopes of pursuing a career in aviation. He realized that goal in 1975 when he was hired as a helicopter pilot for a local coal
company. His unique energy, work ethic and vision lead him to build a company that would establish itself as one of the most respected companies in the aviation industry. L.J. Aviation currently operates
18 aircraft including Large, Medium, and Light jets, turbo-props and helicopters, making it the Mid-Atlantic Region's leader. Offering an array of aviation services including a variety of innovative aircraft charter and management programs, L.J.
Aviation has been listed by Professional Pilot Magazine as one of the nation's top 15 charter operators for four consecutive years.
Western Pennsylvania winners will be eligible for consideration for the Entrepreneur Of The Year 2004 national program. Winners in several national categories, as well as the overall national Ernst & Young
Entrepreneur Of The Year, will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs, California, in November 2004.
